Sometimes, the Grime producers behind the scenes of musical masterpieces are forgotten or unknown, however; many of these producers have signature tags can be heard through out the tracks. Popular Grime producers have distinct sounds that followers of the art can easily distinguish.
Some Popular producers include: D'Explicit, Dot Rotten, Plastician, Davinche, Preditah, Jammer, Royal T, Rynsa Man, Rudekid, Teddy Music, HeavyTrackerz, Swifta Beater and Prince Rapid.
Some oldschool producers include: Wiley, Rapid, Youngstar, Danny Weed, DJ Target, DJ XTC, Treble Clef, Terror Danjah and DJ/Sir Spyro.
Some newschool producers include: HeavyTrackerz, Faze Miyake, Ezro, Splurgeboys, Westy, Swifta Beater, ZDot, Last Japan and As.If.Kid.
Many producers on the scene today are Grime emcees as well, including: JME, Skepta, Wiley, Teddy Music, Dot Rotten, Rapid, Jammer, Footsie, Dot Rotten, Blizzard, D.Dark, Splurgeboys, Dirty Danger and Scrufizzer.
As Grime has expanded onto the global scene, the credit can not only be awarded to the Grime emcees who have made it possible, but the countless efforts of these talented producers who are responsible for evolving and transforming the sound into what it is today. There is a constant debate of who made the first Grime track and depending on who you ask, some may credit Youngstar's "Pulse X" as the first Grime instrumental and others may credit Wileys "Eskimo". "Gunshot Riddim/ Pulse Eskimo" (which is a mix of Pulse X and Eskimo) by Skepta was also an original track released under Wiley Kat Records. This song is commonly perceived as an original Wiley production because of its release and it is often confused with another early Grime production, "Gunshot Riddim Special" which was also an early Grime Tune, produced by Skepta.
A great number of Grime DJs/Producers have contributed to the scene in other ways than just DJing, mixing and producing. DJs like Tim Westwood has consistently supported the movement by airing endless artists on his pirate radio shows as well as through BBC 1Xtra, Capital FM and most of all "Tim Westwood TV". DJ/Sir Spyro has also done a large part in supporting the Grime scene on his radio show, "The Grime Show" on Rinse FM as well as being an active producer and DJ on the scene from some time now. Another big influencer of not only Grime music, but the whole UK music scene is Toddla T, who hosts a weekly show on BBC Radio 1Xtra and BBC Radio.
